Argentina and Belgium qualified for the quarterfinals after winning the second round to Switzerland 1-0 (with the only goal of Di Maria) and the USA 2-1 (with goals converted by Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku), respectively. Both teams managed to advance to the quarterfinals in overtime.
